Sophie Danielle Peterlin passed away on September 15, 2012 on Englebright Lake. She and her mother, Cynthia, died in a boating crash. She was 12.

A service will be held on Saturday October 6, 2012 at 11:00am at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Penn Valley.

Miss Peterlin was born on November 15, 1999 in Mt. View to Paul and Cynthia Peterlin. She had just started eighth grade at Mt. St. Mary’s Academy in Grass Valley.

Sophie was the secretary for the Penn Valley/Rough and Ready 4H Club. She was also a member of the Girl Scouts - Troop 269 and Choraleers at Mt. St. Mary’s Academy. Her hobbies included horse riding, school sports, singing, ballet, basketball and cross country.

Sophie is survived by her father, Paul of Penn Valley, her brothers, Brock of San Diego and Alek of Penn Valley, grandfather Michael Korek of Los Altos, grandparents Stan and Carol Peterlin of Dunsmuir, uncle Marcus and aunt Jayne Peterlin of San Ramon, uncle Brian Korek of San Jose and many, many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
