Cynthia Elizabeth Peterlin passed away on September 15, 2012 on Englebright Lake. She and her daughter, Sophie, died in a boating crash. She was 42.

A service will be held on Saturday October 6, 2012 at 11:00am at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Penn Valley.

Mrs. Peterlin was born on October 9, 1969 to Michael and Ina Korek in New York City. She received a high school diploma from Los Altos High School in 1987 and graduated from UC Davis in 1991.

Mrs. Peterlin married Paul Peterlin on September 20, 1992 at Crocker Mansion in Atherton, CA. Cynthia was a wonderful wife and mother, and a great friend. She was always involved in her children’s school, community activities and loved her family.

Her hobbies included gardening, horse trail riding, baking, reading, and running 5K’s. She was a leader of the Penn Valley and Rough and Ready 4H Club.

Mrs. Peterlin is survived by her husband, Paul of Penn Valley, her sons, Brock of San Diego and Alek of Penn Valley, father Michael Korek of Los Altos, her brother Brian Korek of San Jose, in-laws Stan and Carol Peterlin of Dunsmuir, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Marcus and Jayne Peterlin of San Ramon, many cousins and special friends.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her mother Ina Korek of Los Altos.
