Carolyn Barnes, a Los Altos flower arranger, is scheduled to discuss “English Flowers Abloom … Arrangements Re-created from the Jubilee Year Chelsea Flower Show” 9:30-11:30 a.m. Oct. 24 at the Freidenrich Conference Center at the Oshman Jewish Community Center, 3921 Fabian Way, Palo Alto.

Barnes is a former home, garden and crafts columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle and the Town Crier. The event will include an English breakfast tea, Barnes’ short photo overview of the Chelsea Flower Show and re-creation of five award-winning arrangements, and a silent auction.

Tickets are $30-$35.
