Check out who's running for state senate, assembly and Congress here.

Measures and Propositions:

Traci Newell explains the difference between propositions 30 and 38 in the Oct. 17 issue. For Ellie Van Houtte's guide to all the propositions, click here.

Voters also have a say in El Camino Hospital's proposed executive compensation restriction, Measure M.

Two local measures, A and B, would increase the sales tax and renew a parcel tax in the name of preserving county services and clean water projects. Read more here.

Endorsements:

The Town Crier offered paid political endorsement ads during the campaign season and catalogued them here.

The Town Crier's reporters and editors take no political stances during election season. But the publisher issued endorsements in some local and regional races.

Reporter Traci Newell wrote about the fine line parent leaders have been walking this month between sharing information and making endorsements.

Los Altos Mayor Val Carpenter's objection to election signage also drew coverage by reporter Diego Abeloos.

Local school officials have spoken out about their support for Proposition 30 in preference to Proposition 38.
