Troop 31 Boy Scouts, from left, Reed Hawkins, John Willey, Marcus White and CJ Allen, recently earned their Eagle ranks.

Boy Scout Troop 31 members John Willey III, Reed Hawkins, CJ Allen and Marcus White received their Eagle Scout ranks at a July 18 ceremony at Union Presbyterian Church.

• Willey graduated from St. Francis High School. For his Eagle project, he oversaw the construction of a 10-foot-by-12-foot shed for emergency supplies at St. Simon School. The project spanned eight weeks and enlisted 20 volunteers.

Willey attends the University of Washington in Seattle, pursuing a bioengineering degree.

• Hawkins graduated from St. Francis High. For his Eagle project, he led an effort to design and build a garden at Egan Junior High. The project involved installing irrigation and six planter boxes, planting four trees, placing mulch and compacting granite for pathways.

Hawkins attends the University of Washington’s College of Engineering.

• Allen graduated from St. Francis High. For his Eagle project, he organized an effort to design and construct fences to line pathways at the Loyola School garden. The project required 17 volunteers working over three weeks.

Allen attends UCLA.

• White graduated from Mountain View High. For his Eagle project, he directed crews in the construction of a shade structure over the scorekeeper’s table at the baseball field at Mountain View High. The group added five distance markers to the outfield fence. The project engaged 30 volunteers working over 12 months.

White attends the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics at Syracuse University in New York.
