The former site of Rasputin Music and DSW will soon become Mountain View’s newest grocery store.

Sprouts Farmers Market is slated to open at 630 San Antonio Road Sept. 19, according to media relations representative Kim Rockley.

In an email to the Town Crier, Rockley noted that the new 28,500-square-foot market would feature, among other things, a mix of natural, organic and mainstream foods, including all-natural meats, fresh produce, nearly 300 bins of bulk food, and health and beauty products.

The new store will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week and will employ nearly 100 people.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this bustling community in the heart of Silicon Valley,” Rockley wrote. “The locals have been hungry for a Sprouts for a while now, and we are busy getting the store prepped to make its debut. … We cannot wait to share our bounty of natural foods with the active residents we look forward to serving.”

The growing regional grocer currently operates nearly 150 stores in eight Southwestern and Western states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.

The privately held company merged in April 2011 with Henry’s Farmers Markets/Sun Harvest Farms, before a second merger with Sunflower Farmers Markets in May.
