Los Altos business owner Irene Miszler recently opened her latest venture, Chelsea, a women’s clothing boutique at 276 State St.

Glossy floors, glittering jewelry and tailored frocks greet shoppers as they enter Chelsea, a new women’s clothing boutique at 276 State St.

The boutique is the latest business venture of Los Altos resident Irene Miszler, owner of Bliss Beauty Center and Syd Boutique at Rancho Shopping Center.

Miszler said she decided to open Chelsea in the downtown area so that she could serve residents of north Los Altos and Palo Alto.

“People typically do not travel down to the south (portion of Los Altos),” she said, adding that she chose downtown “to bring our services here, to attract more people from out of town and contribute better” to the Los Altos community.

Mislzer is quick to point out that her newest creation stands on its own and shouldn’t be confused with Syd Boutique.

“It is not an extension (of Syd), but an expansion,” said Miszler, noting that Chelsea will carry the same caliber of products as Syd, albeit in different styles.

“We choose our products based on our clients,” she said. “We understand the lifestyle of local residents and cater an assortment (of products).”

And while she may have developed the store with the local shopper in mind, Miszler said Chelsea also aims to offer a variety of clothing and accessories.

“(There is) something for everyone,” she said. “It’s a one-stop shop. We have personal care, shoes, accessories, jewelry. It’s a great place to buy gifts, an outfit for a night out or update your wardrobe.”

With ample experience as a clothing boutique owner, Miszler noted that she’s aware of the products shoppers desire – particularly women 35 and up – and her emphasis is on quality designs and materials.

“We offer premium denim brands, like Diane Von Furstenberg, Nicole Miller, Ella Moss – tried and true brands,” she said. “I’m not at an age where I need to experiment.”

As for accessories, Chelsea offers Theia, a jewelry line designed by Miszler.

“I love making women happy and beautiful. Jewelry is an expression of yourself and a way to make people happy,” said Miszler, who described her jewelry line as “gorgeous, glittery, but simple.”
