Board of Supervisors appoints Couture to Planning Commission

The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors appointed longtime Los Altos resident Terri Couture to the county Planning Commission. The 23-year real estate veteran is a broker associate with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Los Altos office.

Couture’s appointment was based on her experience in the real estate industry as well as her service with the county, including her work as a value hearings officer, reviewing property-tax payers’ appeals on valuations.

“This is a significant achievement for Terri and an outstanding addition to the Santa Clara County Planning Commission,” said Fred Hibbert, manager of Coldwell Banker’s Los Altos office. “Terri is one of our top-producing agents and has a rich and diverse background in real estate. She will bring an important perspective to the county on a wide variety of housing and private property rights issues.”

Throughout her Coldwell Banker career, Couture has consistently been in the top 1 percent of real estate agents in Santa Clara County and nationwide.

She also served as an agent for several other brokerages before joining Coldwell Banker.

Couture earned a bachelor’s degree and secondary teaching credential from Humboldt State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Oregon.

After working in retail and marketing, Couture launched her real estate career in 1990 with Eckert Properties.

She also worked for Alain Pinel Realtors and Primecore Properties before joining Coldwell Banker in 2003.

A resident of Los Altos for more than 30 years, Couture is married with two adult children.
