The Los Altos-based Waldorf School of the Peninsula has scheduled its second High School Benefit Concert 7 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, 625 Hamilton Ave., Palo Alto.

Concert selections range from classical and traditional to modern, and include solo, group and whole-class performances of chamber music, recorder ensemble, African drumming and dance, eurythmy – a dance form unique to Waldorf education – creative music and chorus.

Suggested donations are $8 for adults, $5 for students and $10 for preferred seating (front two rows). Advance tickets are available online at secure.acceptiva.com/?cst=08bfff. Proceeds support the St. Vincent de Paul food bank at St. Athanasius Church in Mountain View, home of the school’s middle and high school programs.

Interested students and parents are invited to attend the high school’s final open house of the 2011-2012 school year, scheduled 10:30 a.m. to noon March 31 at 160 N. Rengstorff Ave. Visitors will have an opportunity to view student work, meet faculty, experience sample lessons and participate in a question-and-answer session.

The next school tours at the Los Altos campus, which serves students in nursery school through fifth grade, are slated 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday and April 24 at 11311 Mora Drive.

For more information on the concert, open house or tours, call 417-7600 or visit waldorfpeninsula.org.
