Turner GreenTown Los Altos, a non-profit organization that promotes sustainability, has hired Keith W. Turner as its new executive director. Turner succeeds Kacey Fitzpatrick, who resigned in July. A Bay Area native, Turner most recently managed the Mountain River Chapter of the American Red Cross in Bend, Ore.
“I’m excited to be working with the volunteers and members of the Los Altos and Los Altos Hills communities,” he said. “Working from our three-year strategic plan, we will focus on efforts to reduce waste generated, conserve water and energy, and reduce vehicle trips.” Turner earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from San Diego State University and a Certificate in Fundraising Management from Indiana University. “We feel fortunate to have found someone of Keith’s caliber to serve as the leader of our organization,” said Arnold Ambiel, GreenTown’s interim executive director. Founded in 2007, GreenTown Los Altos’ mission is to educate and inspire residents to create an environmentally healthier community. For more information, visit www.greentownlosaltos.org.
