Childrens musician Doctor Noize, aka Cory Cullinan of Los Altos, is scheduled to perform two free concerts Sunday afternoon.
Children’s performer Doctor Noize – aka Los Altos native Cory Cullinan – is scheduled to kick off the Community School of Music and Arts Family Concert Series this Sunday in Mountain View.
Performances are scheduled 2 and 4 p.m. Sunday in Tateuchi Hall, CSMA at Finn Center, 230 San Antonio Circle. Admission is free.
Award-winning Doctor Noize plays multiple instruments, arranging and recording songs on the spot, inviting attendees onstage to contribute to the music. His concerts are known for their crowd participation and technology.
Prior to gaining fame as Doctor Noize, Cullinan ran the electronic music studio at Stanford University and headed the music and arts department at Pinewood School.
As Doctor Noize, he has released several CDs, including “My Oyster” and “The Ballad of Phineas McBoof.” Cullinan has written music for several mainstream television shows and movies and composed documentary soundtracks for films shown at the Sundance Film Festival and on PBS television.
He is currently performing with the North State Symphony in Redding and Chico, playing a full-orchestral version of “Banana,” a No. 1 children’s song on XM satellite radio and other works.
Tickets to the open-seating concerts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis Sunday. Tateuchi Hall holds approximately 200 people.
