FHDA to announce candidate to fill vacancy Print E-mail

The Foothill-De Anza Board of Trustees selected eight finalists in the search to fill the seat of Paul Fong, elected to the California State Assembly in November.

The board is scheduled to interview candidates and select a trustee to fill the vacancy Monday, past press deadline. Visit www.latc.com for the announcement of the new trustee.

The finalists for the seat:

• Marsha Nye Adler, Ph.D., of Mountain View works in Supervisor Liz Kniss’ office as a policy analyst and has been involved locally in Leadership Mountain View and the YMCA.

• Faith W. Brigel of Palo Alto is a clinical social worker and has served on the executive PTA boards of El Carmelo Elementary School and Jane Lathrop Stanford Middle School in Palo Alto.

• Pearl Cheng of Cupertino currently serves on the Cupertino Union School District Board of Trustees, has experience with the Santa Clara County School Boards Association and is a member of the De Anza Commission and the Chancellor Circle.

• Christopher Chiang of Mountain View is a teacher at Monta Vista High School in Cupertino.

• Tom Klein of Los Altos is a corporate attorney, advising Silicon Valley corporate boards for 19 years. He serves on two board advisory committees.

• Elinora Mantovani of Cupertino is an attorney and past member of the board of directors for the Cupertino Educational Endowment Foundation and the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce.

• Amy Pearl of Los Altos is a former Silicon Valley software executive with more than 15 years’ experience.

• Anabel Pelham, Ph.D., of Los Altos is a professor of gerontology at San Francisco State University and department chairwoman for the Gerontology Program at the university.
