Art and Ellie Zias celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 5 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.

The couple met on a blind date in Brooklyn, N.Y., while in high school.

Ellie has been a Los Altos realtor with Coldwell Banker for more than 30 years. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, gourmet cooking and gardening.

Art has been a pioneer and inventor in the field of MEMS sensors for more than 47 years. He performs with several bands in the Bay Area as a jazz saxophonist.

They have lived in Los Altos since 1977. Their son, Jeff, lives in Los Altos with his wife, Elizabeth, and children Danika, Kurt and Drew. Their daughter, Sheryl, lives in Los Altos with her husband, Brian.
