Drug arrest

Dec. 15, 9:10 p.m., El Camino Real, Palo Alto: Los Altos police arrested a 27-year-old woman for possession of a narcotic and narcotic paraphernalia. She was booked into Santa Clara County jail.

Construction site burglary

Dec. 15-16, between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m., 1600 block of Holt Avenue: Unknown suspects broke into a locked construction site and stole tools estimated at $2,600.

Drunk in public

Dec. 16, 12:01 a.m., San Antonio Road and El Camino Real: A man was arrested for public intoxication, deemed unable to care for himself and booked into Santa Clara County jail.

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
