and Gregory Devitt

Sheryl Wolcott and Gregory Devitt were married July 8 in San Francisco.

The bride is the daughter of Fred and Lois Wolcott of Los Altos. She graduated from Los Altos High School, received bachelor’s degrees in literature and political science from UC San Diego and a juris doctorate from UC Hastings College of Law. She is a deputy district attorney in San Mateo County.

The groom is the son of Michael and Mary Jo Devitt of San Luis Obispo. He graduated from San Luis Obispo High School, received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from San Francisco State and a juris doctorate from the University of San Francisco Law School. He is employed as a deputy district attorney in San Mateo County.

The couple live in San Francisco.

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
