Helen was born in Creighton NE, and moved to Creston MT with her parents Robert and Anna Prishmann about 1930. She married Russell Munter in 1934, and they lived first on the Munter family farm in Demarsville, and later in Kalispell MT. Her working career included selling real estate, working in various departments at the Kalispell Mercantile, and managing Martins Clothing Store on Main Street.
During WW II she was a volunteer plane spotter. In the 1970’s she was chef for the Holiday Inn Resort on Flathead Lake, and later managed the Elks Resort on the lake for two summers. In her younger days, she was an avid fisherman, camper and huckleberry picker. She loved to entertain friends in her home and on the back patio, and her cinnamon rolls, dill pickles and pan-fired chicken were legendary. When she finally had to leave her little home on 2nd Avenue East in the summer of 2005, she had her going-away breakfast with the Sykes bunch, a favorite spot for her and her friends.
Helen was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother (”G-G”). She will be in our hearts, and those of her lifelong friends, forever. A celebration of life will be held in Kalispell MT in the summer of 2007, and interment will be alongside her husband at the Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
