Stephanie M. Tipping and Charles L. Withers have announced their engagement to be married in May on Cape Cod, Mass.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Tipping of Woburn, Mass. She is a graduate of Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass., and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania in economics. She is employed as an analyst for the publishing industry with Goldman Sachs.

The groom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Withers Jr. of Los Altos. He is a graduate of the Woodberry Forest School in Orange, Va., and received a degree in economics from the University of Virginia. He is employed as a broker with The CAC Group, a commercial real estate firm.

The couple plan to reside in San Francisco.
