Katie Beman and Matt Ginder-Vogel

Katie Beman and Matt Ginder-Vogel were married April 7 at the Los Altos History Museum.

The bride is the daughter of Ginger and John Beman of Los Altos. She graduated from Los Altos High School and Stanford University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English. She is employed as a freelance writer.

The groom is the son of Deborah Ginder and Peter Vogel of Little Falls, Minn. He graduated from Little Falls High School, received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Carleton College and a postdoctorate in geological and environmental sciences from Stanford University. He is employed as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Delaware.

The couple plan to live in Newark, Del.

Jennifer Ewing and Bryan Steinbrueck

Jennifer Ewing and Bryan Steinbrueck were married July 16 at the Paul Masson Mountain Winery in Saratoga.

The bride is the daughter of Peter and Penny Ewing of Los Altos. She graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a bachelor’s degree in economics. She is employed as a credit analyst at Borel Private Bank & Trust Company in Palo Alto.

The groom is the son of Susan Steinbrueck of Mountain View and Rudy Steinbrueck of Galt. He graduated from Brooks Academy with a bachelor’s degree in computers and is employed as a lab technician at Dynamic Consultants Inc. in Mountain View.

The couple live in Santa Clara with their pugs, Sydney and Cody, who were their ring bearers.

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
