STANLEY J. STANAVITCH
Stanley J. Stanavitch, loving husband of 50 years to Lucille B. Stanavitch passed away on October 1, 2006; beloved brother of Helen Stavisky and brother-in-law of Peter Stavisky and Vivian K. Williams; Great Uncle of Lance W. Williams, Debbie Williams Colee and Kenneth Colee; Great Great Uncle of Megan A. Colee.
A native of Scranton, PA, aged 84 years. Stanley was a resident of Los Altos for 40 years, retired from the US Navy after 20 years and was then a Golf Pro for 30 years working at Sunnyvale Municipal and Deep Cliff Golf Courses.
Inurnment services were held at Alta Mesa Memorial Park, Palo Alto, CA. Contributions are preferred to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by the Cusimano Family Colonial Mortuary, Mtn. View, CA.
CHARLES BILLINGS “BILL” CLARKE
Charles Billings “Bill” Clarke died September 29, 2006 in Hood River, Oregon. He was 87 years of age.
Services were held on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at the Hood River Alliance Church.
Bill was born December 8, 1918 in Portland, Oregon to Charles and Zoe (Himes) Clarke. He was raised and educated in Portland, attending Rose City Park Grade School, graduating from Grant High School and attending Oregon State University. During World War II, Bill served in the U.S. Army in India. On May 2, 1946, he and Margaret “Malie” Corbett were married in Portland, Oregon. Bill was employed at Crown Zellerbach Paper Company for thirty-five years, retiring as assistant treasurer. He resided in Portland, Oregon from 1918 to 1955, Mountain View, California from 1955 to 1991, Portland, Oregon from 1991 to 2003 and Hood River, Oregon from 2004 to 2006.
His wife Margaret preceded him in death in 1990.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan Margaret Clarke of Beaverton, Oregon; son James Sutherland Clarke of Lafayette, Louisiana; son Scott Corbett Clarke of Mountain View, California; daughter Nancy Clarke Clement of Hood River, Oregon and sister H.K. Reeves of Mountain View, California. Seven grandchildren, Jessica Lauder Clarke, Michelle Joyce Clarke, Timothy Jess Clarke, Katherine Jean Clarke, Corbett Billings Clarke, Christina Margaret Clement and Michael Hunter Clarke Clement also survive.
