Jennifer Young and Chris Miller

Jennifer Young and Chris Miller were married July 8 in Memorial Chapel at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn. The bride’s sister, Amy, was the maid of honor, and the groom’s sister, Jennie, was the “best man.” A reception followed at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, Conn.

The bride is the daughter of Nancy and Rick Young of Tolland, Conn. She graduated from Boston University with degrees in math and economics, and has a master’s degree in public policy from Princeton University. She is an analyst in the Federal Government Accountability Office.

The groom is the son of Cathy and Bob Miller of Los Altos. He attended Bullis and Egan schools and graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in sociology. He is a science teacher at Bullis School in Potomac, Md.

The couple live in Washington, D.C.

Kelly Prahm and Matthew Vanis

Kelly Prahm and Matthew Vanis have announced their engagement to be married Nov. 4 at the Church of the Nativity in Menlo Park. A reception will follow at the Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Jan and Jill Prahm of Los Altos.

She graduated from St. Francis High School and received a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Colorado. She is employed in sales at Symantac.

The groom-to-be is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Vanis of Pasadena.

He graduated from Loyola High School of Los Angeles, received a bachelor’s degree in history from UCLA and a juris doctorate from Loyola Law School.

He is employed as an attorney at Cathcart, Collins and Kneafsey LLP, Los Angeles.
