Eric Bradley Garcia of Los Altos, a 2001 graduate of Los Altos High School, has been accepted into the professional veterinary medical program at Colorado State University for the fall 2006 term. Eric received an undergraduate degree in biological sciences from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Danielle Marie LeFevre of Los Altos was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Scripps College in Claremont. LeFevre is a junior majoring in sociology. The dean’s list recognizes students who have achieved a grade-point average of at least 11 (A-) in four letter-graded courses in one semester.

Lisa Manners of Los Altos was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. A student must maintain a 3.5 grade-point average to make the dean’s list at Cal Lutheran. Manners graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in communications in May.

Rebecca Toll of Los Altos graduated with a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks in May.

When members of the Los Altos Village Association first created the summer movie nights, they anticipated an event that would attract more residents downtown as a way to promote business.

What they didn’t anticipate was an influx of middle schoolers, or that parents would use the weekly Friday night affair as an opportunity to drop off their children and have someone else (in this case, the Village Association) effectively watch over them.
