Jan and Stoney Edwards, 50 years
Elizabeth F. Gamble Garden, Palo Alto, was the setting of a 50th wedding anniversary celebration June 30 for Jan and Stoney Edwards, residents of Los Altos since 1962.
Stoney was one of the founders of Siliconix Inc. in 1962 and retired from National Semiconductor Corp. in 1999. Jan has been a resident piano teacher and performer in Fortnightly Music Club since 1960.
Retirement has brought their active participation in World Missions at First Baptist Church of Los Altos as well as professional endeavors in wildlife and nature photography.
Out-of-town guests at the celebration included Dr. and Mrs. William Morehead of San Angelo, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. George Joblin Watts III of Lewisville, Texas; members of the original wedding party, Richard F. Hatfield of Livermore (a friend of Stoney’s since high school) and wife Sally Swanson; and Mr. and Mrs. William Walker, longtime friends from Fresno.
The Edwards children, Dr. Thomas Edwards and Jan Edwards Cooke, accompanied by spouses Cynthia and Christopher, officiated. Grandchildren Elyssa, Jeremiah, Arianne and Madeline took part in a replay of family history.
The Rev. Randy Wilson officiated at the renewal of vows preceding dinner for 50 guests.
