The 18th annual Los Altos Chamber of Commerce Business EXPO hosted over 40 exhibitors Thursday. Local businesses ranging from high-tech to massage and acupuncture therapy and non-profit organizations shared the floor space with Los Altos restaurant favorites. State Assemblyman Ira Ruskin made a brief appearance.
Chamber president Julie Rose was happy with the turnout this year. “This is a great opportunity to make connections,” she said. “Businesses talk to other businesses and organizations. There is a healthy cross-fertilization that goes on.”
Armadillo Willy’s, Chef Chu’s and Le Boulanger doled out generous food samples to hungry patrons and booth exhibiters.
Several Los Altos groups were on hand to provide information about their programs and fund-raising opportunities. Relay For Life handed out cancer awareness bracelets and brochures. The Los Altos Garbage Company distributed tips on composting and proper hazardous waste disposal. The Sister Cities Program showcased travel exchange opportunities in Italy, Taiwan and Russia.
Community Health Awareness Council (CHAC) handed out brochures on school and health programs throughout the Bay Area.
Danoo Media founder David Liu displayed his LCD billboards and connected with businesses eager for additional marketing tools.
The California Water Service Company, Cedar Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Courtyard by Marriott Palo Alto-Los Altos and Heritage Bank of Commerce sponsored the EXPO.
