Burglary

March 28, 8:02 a.m., 900 block of Fremont Ave.: vehicle parked in underground garage broken into. Suspect unknown.

March 28, 12:36 p.m., 900 block of Andover Way: credit cards taken from vehicle.

March 31, 7:02 p.m., 1600 block of Parkhills Ave.: residential burglary, entered open window and took jewelry and electronics, ransacked home. LAPD following leads.

Accident

April 1, 2:27 p.m., Foothill Expressway and Grant Road: vehicle and bicycle accident, minor injury.

Fraud

March 28, 5:37 p.m., 100 block of Hamilton Court: identity theft, credit cards stolen.

Drunk in public

March 27, 10:09 p.m., Grant Road and Crist Drive: public drunkenness, 55-year-old male walking in and out of traffic.

Fire

March 28, 11:08 a.m., 100 block of Gordon Way: mechanical problem caused vehicle fire. Estimated damage: $9,000. Santa Clara County Fire Department and Los Altos Police Department responded to call.

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
