BEA DONNER

Bea Donner passed away in Seattle, WA on March 10 of a massive stroke at the age of 93. A Los Altos resident for 58 years, “Auntie Bea” is survived by her children Linda and Dennis Block and Gary Greenberg. Her grandchildren Michael Marks and Michelle and Tim Peacock and great grandchildren Cade and Riley Peacock also survive her.

Mady and Mel Kahn, referred to as “my Melvin” by Auntie Bea, will miss the woman who became Mel’s second mother. Bea’s many friends in Los Altos will miss her vivacious personality, perfectly coiffed hair and nails, stylish dress, incredible sense of humor, never forgotten birthday cards and the world’s best chopped liver.

Mrs. Donner worked at Varian for several years and Stuarts clothing store in Valco Shopping Center during her “retirement”.

Bea moved to Seattle about a year ago to be closer to her daughter, but visited Los Altos three weeks before her death. Her friends felt very fortunate to have seen her before she passed away.

Services were held in Colma March 16.

Donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Bea’s memory or to: Congregation Beth Am, 26790 Arastradero Rd., Los Altos Hills, CA 94022, Rabbi Janet Marder’s Discretionary Fund.
