Lisa Raffetto and Marc Sidel

Lisa Raffetto and Marc Sidel have announced their engagement to be married June 3 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Los Altos.

A reception will follow at Palo Alto Hills Country Club.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Michael and Nora Raffetto of Los Altos Hills. She graduated from St. Francis High School and earned a bachelor’s degree and a doctorate from UCLA. She is an attorney with Cooley Godward in Palo Alto.

The groom-to-be is the son of Joel and Carol Sidel of Los Altos. He graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory and received a bachelor’s degree from Whitman College.

He is community program manager at Hidden Villa in Los Altos Hills.

The couple have known each other since first grade at St. Nicholas School.

They plan to live in Los Altos.

Elisabeth Rehrmann and D. Christian Claytor - 1 year

Elisabeth Rehrmann and D. Christian Claytor were married Dec. 18, 2004 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Los Altos.

The bride is the daughter of George and Donna Rehrmann of Los Altos Hills. She graduated from St. Francis High School and received a degree in psychology from the UC Berkeley.

She is the owner and director of Splash Swim School in San Ramon.

The groom is the son of James Claytor of Lafayette and Susan Claytor of Walnut Creek. He graduated from Las Lomas High School, received a degree in political science from UC Berkeley and a doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law.

He is employed as an attorney at Foley, McIntosh, Frey & Claytor in Lafayette.

The couple honeymooned in Thailand last February and live in San Ramon.

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
