Library book group discusses ‘Life of Pi’

The Wednesday evening book group is scheduled to meet 7:30-9 p.m. March 15 in the small conference room at the Los Altos main library.

The group will discuss Yann Martel’s “Life of Pi,” winner of the 2002 Mann Booker Prize for Fiction.

The library is located at 13 S. San Antonio Road.

Learn about wildlife at Los Altos library

Wildlife Rescue of Palo Alto is scheduled to give a presentation about local wildlife 7:30 p.m. March 15,

in the program room, Los Altos main library, 13 S. San Antonio Road.

Ages 14 and up are invited to learn how to live peaceably with our animal neighbors, what to do if they find an injured or

orphaned wild animal and more.

The library plans to present a special program for younger nature lovers March 29.

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
