Alexandra E. Garnett of Los Altos has been placed on the Dean’s List of Tufts University for the fall term.

Sujata F. Shyam of Los Altos, a student of education and social policy at Northwestern University, has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall quarter.

Sudabeh Ezzatyar of Los Altos was named to the Gonzaga University President’s List for fall semester.

Brenton Michael Hughes of Los Altos Hills and David Benjamin Nelson of Los Altos were named to the Dean’s List of Vanderbilt University for fall semester.

Benjamin Tucker of Los Altos was named to the Dean’s List of St. Olaf College and Nami Kasuys of Los Altos was named to the Dean’s List of Boston University.

The following students have been named to the Dean’s List at the University of California, Santa Barbara for the fall quarter: Toni Pui-Mun Chau, Jane Esther Lee and Kenta Kathleen Tully of Los Altos Hills and Alisa Evelyn Chester, Blair Christine Dematteis, Maegan Ryan Hendow, Nicole Kimberly Hodges, Kimberly Marei Maher, Stephanie Danielle Moniz, Benjamin John Rancatore and Michelle Stephanie Wohler of Los Altos.

Also this fall, Joel Bakos of Los Altos was awarded a degree from Oklahoma State University.

When members of the Los Altos Village Association first created the summer movie nights, they anticipated an event that would attract more residents downtown as a way to promote business.

What they didn’t anticipate was an influx of middle schoolers, or that parents would use the weekly Friday night affair as an opportunity to drop off their children and have someone else (in this case, the Village Association) effectively watch over them.
