As part of the League of Women Voters-sponsored Great Decisions series, George Koo, director of Chinese services for Deloitte and Touche, and Pradip Madan, president of Microland, will facilitate a community discussion on how India and China cooperate and compete 2-4 p.m. Thursday in the meeting room of the Los Altos main library, 13 S. San Antonio Road.

Koo helps technology companies form strategic alliances with local entities in Asia and Asian companies find U.S. partners. Madan is responsible for spearheading his company’s focus on international business.

The Great Decisions weekly discussion series, coordinated by the Foreign Policy Association, runs through March 23. For more information, call 948-7683 or 941-4846.

In Our Opinion

Editorial

When members of the Los Altos Village Association first created the summer movie nights, they anticipated an event that would attract more residents downtown as a way to promote business.

What they didn’t anticipate was an influx of middle schoolers, or that parents would use the weekly Friday night affair as an opportunity to drop off their children and have someone else (in this case, the Village Association) effectively watch over them.
