Francis and Elizabeth Gaudé

Francis and Elizabeth Gaudé celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 15 in San Francisco with their children and their families.

The couple stayed at the Westin St. Francis and spent the weekend taking in the sights of the city.

The Gaudés met while employed at Douglas Aircraft, Frank as an aeronautical engineer and Betty as a technical librarian.

They were married in 1955 at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Santa Monica, but moved to Huntsville, Ala., in the early 1960s.

They settled in Los Altos in 1969, where they lived until retiring to Lake Tahoe in 1988. After 14 years the couple relocated to Cameron Park, where they currently reside.

The Gaudés raised four children: Cindy Gebhart of Mercer Island, Wash.; Mitzi Pierce of Los Altos; Joe Gaude′ of Sunnyvale; and Sue White of Cameron Park.

They have five grandchildren: Joseph, Jessica, Grant, Genevieve and Sophia.
