Blach Holiday Faire set for next week
Blach Intermediate School has scheduled its annual Holiday Faire 12:30-4 p.m. Dec. 2 in the multipurpose room. Blach students design and produce all the handcrafted items. More than 75 booths will offer holiday decorations, jewelry, hair accessories, candy, food items, toys, candles and more.

Books Inc. sales help MVHS Grad Night
Join Mountain View High School in a fund-raiser for Grad Night 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 10 at Books Inc. The store will donate 20 percent of the morning’s sales to the school to ensure that all students can attend the traditional post-graduation event. Shop for holiday gifts, class books and yourself to help the cause. Gift-wrapping will be provided. Books Inc. is located at 301 Castro St., Mountain View.
Children’s illustrator appears at book fair
Children’s book illustrator Jenny Mattheson will join the “Enter the Kingdom of Reading,” a Scholastic Book Fair scheduled 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Dec. 1 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 2 at Bullis Charter School.
Proceeds will be used to buy essential classroom resources and support school projects.
Mattheson’s appearance is scheduled for 6:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 1. She will present an interactive drawing demonstration, read from and sign her books, which include “The Mouse, the Cat, and Grandmother’s Hat,” “Christmas Morning,” “Happy to be Girls” and “The Great Tulip Trade.”
The school is located at 103 W. Portola, on the campus of Egan Junior High School in Los Altos.
Pratt Center sets lecture series
The Pratt Center, dedicated to empowering “children, adolescents and adults to lead more fulfilling lives,” has scheduled the 2005-2006 Lecture Series 7-8:30 p.m. through May 1 at Los Altos Christian School, Room 620, 625 Magdalena Ave.
The next lecture, “Transitioning to Middle School, High School and College,” is scheduled for Dec. 5.
The series is provided as a community service, and everyone is welcome. All lectures are free, and there is no registration.
