Oak Avenue School second-
graders learned about economics when they raised money to benefit the American Red Cross and survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Sixty students designed greeting cards, selected five designs to print and sell to friends and family and sorted the final product into packs for delivery. The students learned that goods take many steps to market, and the Red Cross received $1,900. Emma Korobkin, (middle row) Cristian Scotti and Maddie Forkner, (back row, from left) Eric Dyer and Radhika Gupta work on their designs.
