Belis Aksoy and Jonathan Sly

Belis Aksoy and Jonathan Sly were married Sept. 12 at the Sheraton Resort in Cesme, Turkey.

The bride is the daughter of Nihat and Mukadder Aksoy of Izmir, Turkey. She is a graduate of the University of Ankara and received a master’s degree in business administration from San Jose State University.

The groom is the son of John and Pauline Sly of Los Altos. He graduated from UC Santa Barbara and received a master’s degree in business administration from San Jose State University.

The couple honeymooned in Fethiye, Mugla, on the Mediterranean coast.

Anne Rippetoe and Brian Scharf

Ann Rippetoe and Brian Scharf were married Aug. 21. A reception was held at the Kohl Mansion in Burlingame.

The bride is the daughter of Mary and Braden Rippetoe of Los Altos.

She graduated from Los Altos High School, received a bachelor’s degree in history from Yale University and is a candidate for a master’s degree in sports business from New York University. She is an event coordinator for the National Football League.

The groom is the son of Dr. Daniel and Miriam Scharf of Mission Hills, Kan.

He graduated from Pembroke Hill High School, received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Yale University and is a candidate for a master’s of business administration degree from Columbia University.

He is employed as an analyst at Jacobs Asset Management.

The couple live in New York City.
