Beginning this month, the Los Altos Eagles football teams are kicking off a fund raiser with the help of the Los Altos Neighborhood Network.
The team will sell front-door-friendly “No Solicitation” decals to all Los Altos residents. In accordance with the “No Solicitation” ordinance passed by the city council last February, the stickers provide the door-side notice required by law to stop pesky and sometimes dangerous solicitors.
The football decals are printed with the three-quarter-inch “No Solicitation” lettering required by the ordinance. The peel-and-stick decal also displays subtext, which is designed so that neighbors and schoolchildren will not be discouraged by the sign.
“Our program takes community service seriously, and we wanted to offer something that wouldn’t scare off a Girl Scout,” said Head Varsity Coach Erik Rutgers.
To order a sticker, send a $10 check made out to Los Altos Football to 201 Almond Ave. Los Altos 94022 Attn: Coach Rutgers.
Be sure to include a return address. A decal and an explanation of the code will be mailed back to you.
The junior varsity and the varsity teams’ last home games will be against Gunn High School, Nov. 11 at Foothill College.
