JEANNE LENHART BEARDSLEY 9/18/1914 - 8/28/2005
Born to Oscar and Edna Lenhart, Jeanne grew up in Moberly, Missouri. She attended Moberly College and Chicago Institute of Art.
Jeanne was vivacious, entertaining and independent with a sharp, active mind and a good sense of humor. She was good at recalling stories and jokes. An easy conversationalist, she kept current on world affairs, politics, books, golf and fashion. Jeanne believed in and practiced positive thinking and always lived in the present. She loved children and animals and she stayed in touch with her inner child.
Jeanne looked and acted years younger than her age. At 90 years young at heart, she was talking of buying a sports car and she always pumped her own gas. She enjoyed Trader Joe’s and frequently previewed new products for her family.
A 33-year resident of Los Altos, Jeanne was a long-time member of Encore Club, serving as president for 2 terms and she was active in 2 bridge clubs. She valued her friendships in these groups.
Edward W. Beardsley, her husband of 65 years, preceded Jeanne in death. They really knew how to have a good time and together they traveled to 48 states and many foreign countries.
Her daughter Linda Brawner and her husband John Brawner of Hillsborough; granddaughter, Wendy Brawner; grandson, Jack Brawner and his wife Becky; and great granddaughter, Kelly Brawner, in whose lives she actively participated, survive Jeanne.
With the compassionate support of Pathways Hospice, Jeanne was blessed to die peacefully at home with grace and dignity after a short illness with cancer. Her faith in God supported and sustained her during her life and in her death. Jeanne said she lived at the best time and she was grateful for a life fully lived.
