Anthony Chern of Mountain View, Jeffrey Hynes of Sunnyvale, and Christopher Wong of Mountain View received their Eagle Scout awards at a Boy Scouts of America, Troop 33, Eagle Court of Honor ceremony held at the Los Altos United Methodist Church on June 29.
To earn the highest rank given by the Boy Scouts of America, the Eagle Scouts fulfilled requirements in the areas of leadership, service to the community, and outdoor skills.
Since 1952, more than 140 Troop 33 scouts have earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
For his service project, Anthony Chern designed and organized the construction of a picnic table and benches for the Chinese Church in Christ located in Mountain View.
For his service project, Jeffrey Hynes restored a gardening center used by patients at the Menlo Park Veterans Affairs Hospital. The restoration involved constructing planter boxes, fence painting, building a paver walking path, and laying sod.
For his service project, Christopher Wong designed and organized the construction of redwood benches and planter boxes to help beautify the area surrounding the flagpole for Springer Elementary School located in Mountain View.
