Los Altos-area organizations and residents are pledging their support in the wake of Hurricane Katrina’s devastation in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Donating money is the best way to help relief efforts and is most effective through well-established charities.
Los Altos Community Foundation
Town Crier Hurricane Relief Fund
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
Los Altos students can raise money through Pennies for Patients for cancer patients affected by Hurricane Katrina. “Light the Night” walks will be held in Santa Rosa on Sept. 30 and in Menlo Park on Oct. 8. Last year, approximately 5,000 walkers raised $727,000 through “Light the Night” in Northern California. To register or for more information, call 877-LLS-CURE or visit www.LightTheNight.org/ncd16.
