Martin J. Spangler and Suzanne Bailey celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this month.

The couple was married July 9, 1955, in Los Angeles.

The couple met while attending Stanford University and married after graduation.

After Martin served two years in the U.S. Air Force, the Spanglers returned to the Mountain View/Los Altos area to enter the family business, Spangler Mortuaries.

They have lived in the area for 46 years. Their children, Jim, Linda Cave, Scott and Kristen Bauer, with their spouses, and their 13 grandchildren will join the Spanglers to celebrate their 50th anniversary on Maui in August.
