Foothills accepting car donations

Donate your old vehicle to Foothills Congregational Church of Los Altos and receive a receipt for tax purposes. Foothills has set up a program with Iraj Jahanian, owner of Donation Liaison, to pick up the vehicle and provide the donor an appropriate receipt from the church for tax purposes. The church will receive one-half of the proceeds of the sale.

‘Pastor’s Perspectives’ writers needed

The Town Crier invites pastors throughout the local faith community to submit “Pastor’s Perspectives” for our Spiritual Life section.

The pieces could reflect recent sermons or comment on events of the day. They should be no longer than 500 words.

To submit a piece or for more information, call editor Bruce Barton at 948-9000, ext. 301, or e-mail bruceb@latc.com.

In Our Opinion

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
