Movers empty SILVAR’s 4-year-old headquarters on San Antonio Road to facilitate the move to Cupertino.

The Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS (SILVAR) headquarters moved from its office after four years on San Antonio Road in Los Altos to a larger building in Cupertino June 28.

Realtors cited a need for more space as the primary reason for the relocation.

The 3,800-member SILVAR is a real estate trade

association and homeowner advocacy group serving Silicon Valley and the midPeninsula.

A SILVAR relocation committee chose the new site at 19400 Stevens Creek Blvd., after a two-year search.

According to President-elect and Committee Chairman John Tripp, the move will allow SILVAR to provide better assistance to members. In addition to housing all the services of the former location, the new office will contain on-site member education and training, a specific area for large meetings and additional storage space.

Tripp noted that he was most pleased about the office’s central geographic location and its capacity to hold simultaneous events. “(This move) creates a win-win situation for both the association members and staff,” he said in the association’s newsletter.

The Los Altos office will not remain vacant for long, as a new branch of Borel Private Bank & Trust Co. will replace SILVAR this fall. According to President and CEO John Conover, the

company already serves many Los Altos customers from its San Mateo, San Francisco, and Palo Alto branches. The new location will provide

additional services to local individuals and businesses. He said that he looks forward to “being in the community and being part of the community.”
