Israeli-Palestinian conflict discussed
The World Affairs Council and the Los Altos Library have scheduled “Walls and Bridges in the Israeli - Palestinian Conflict,” 7:30-9 p.m., June 22, at the Los Altos main library, 13 S. San Antonio Road.
The presentation will include photos by Jennifer Kuiper based on her personal experiences working with civilian groups from both sides in the region.
There is no charge for the program. Refreshments will be available at 7 p.m.

Exhibit for Los Altos painter, Hau Pei-Jen
The paintings of Mr. Hau Pei-Jen of Los Altos, internationally famed artist, will be on exhibit 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, through July 8, at Mountain View City Hall, 500 Castro St.
Hau is a graduate of Kyushu Imperial University in Japan. Since emigrating from Hong Kong and settling on the Peninsula in 1956, Hau has taught traditional Chinese painting with a modern flair.
Father’s Day at Hidden Villa
Hidden Villa Farm and Wilderness Preserve in Los Altos Hills has scheduled an outdoor Father’s Day concert and barbecue Sunday, featuring ZunZun and their three-piece band, Chuchumbe. Dinner is scheduled 4-5:30 p.m., and the concert, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Concert proceeds benefit Hidden Villa’s multicultural and environmental programs.
Concert-goers may bring blankets or chairs for the lawn seating. Dinner is $25/adult, $22/vegetarian and $17 per child. Concert admission is $15/adult, $12/students and seniors, and $7.50/children over 3, (3 and under are free).

Amateur radio operators sound off
Foothills Amateur Radio Society (FARS) is scheduled to demonstrate the capabilities of amateur radio during the 24 hours from 11 a.m., June 25 through June 26, in a field next to the Maryknoll Residence in Los Altos, as a part of Amateur Radio Field Day.
The society will operate three radio stations during this period to attempt to make as many contacts as possible with other stations throughout North and South America.
They plan to communicate using voice, Morse code, radio Teletype and digital packet radio.
More than 36,000 Amateur Radio operators worldwide participated in last year’s event.

Library speaker Geist will explore wearable art
Docent Julia Geist is scheduled to present an illustrated lecture on the current exhibit at the Legion of Honor, “Artwear: Fashion and Anti-fashion,” 7:30 p.m., today, in the program room of the Los Altos main library, 13 S. San Antonio Road.
LA/LAH councilmen bartend at Maltby’s
Roy Lave, George Limbach, Jean Mordo, King Lear, Joanne Byrne and Jane Reed of the Los Altos Community Foundation will be guest bartenders 5-8 p.m. tonight at Maltby’s Restaurant in Los Altos to raises funds for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life event. Naval association seeks members
The California L.S.T. (landing ship tank) Association wants to add new members to its roster of shipmates. The association is open to anyone who served on an LST or other amphibious vessel.
According to the United States L.S.T. Association, which currently has 8,400 registered members, there were 1,051 LSTs built to carry troops and supplies to American and Allied positions. The association has scheduled a reunion Aug. 19-25 in Norfolk, Va.
