Beginning this month, the Los Altos Neighborhood Network, (LANN) is offering free “No Solicitation” decals to all Los Altos residents.
In accordance with the new “No Solicitation” ordinance passed by the Los Altos City Council in February, the stickers provide the door-side notice required by law to stop pesky and sometimes dangerous solicitors.
The LANN decals are printed with the three-quarter-inch “No Solicitation” lettering required by the ordinance.
But the peel and stick decal also displays subtext, designed so that neighbors and school children will not be discouraged by the sign.
“When we brainstormed the decals we knew we wanted to stop solicitors but not Girl Scouts” said LANN co-president Dianne Edmonds.
The Los Altos Neighborhood Network was founded in April 2000. The group’s mission is to “preserve the small town character of Los Altos neighborhoods.”
LANN publishes a monthly newsletter and has approximately 500 members.
