Image from article Artists to discuss works at Main Street Forum
This piece from Marie Gordon is currently on display at Main Street Cafe & Books in Los Altos. Gordon, a local resident, will be among a group of artists showcasing their work March 10 at the cafe.

Four artists whose works are currently on display at the Main Street Cafe & Books will speak at the Main Street Forum 7 p.m., March 10.

Appearing next Thursday are Marie Gordon, Susan Kraft, Trevlyn Williams and Peter Zivkov. Sarah Griffith and Alicia Quani, whose works are also on display, will be unable to appear that evening.

Each artist will speak briefly, then the four will take questions from the audience. Guests are invited to stroll the cafe viewing the art with a new perspective after hearing the artists discuss their works.

Gordon, of Los Altos, has studied with Guido Frick of Switzerland and George Rivera of the Triton Museum in Santa Clara. Her art encompasses landscapes, still life and figures.

Kraft of Palo Alto has been exploring acrylic painting since 2000. Her series vary from portraits to landscapes to abstracted landscapes to spiritually influenced abstracts.

Williams of Palo Alto, a watercolor artist, shows strong influences of South Africa, having spent the first 33 years of her life there.

Zivkov is a member of the Pacific Art League teaching faculty. An engineer by profession, he also is a fine arts photographer.

Griffith uses dramatic, bold use of color and texture, and generous layers of gold, copper and silver leaf. This Baton Rouge artist has been showing for a number of years in New York.

Quaini’s work, shown in more than 30 international solo shows, has been collected worldwide since 1977.

Supper at the cafe is available at 5 p.m. prior to the event. The cafe is located at 134 Main St., in downtown Los Altos. For more information, call 949-0144.
