BEATRICE SURBRIDGE

Beatrice Surbridge, long time Los Altos resident, passed away November 13. Beatrice was born in Everett, Massachusetts on September 12, 1924. She was employed at the Bank of America in Mtn. View for over 25 years. Bea is survived by her sons John (Gail) and Tom (Mary); daughters Joanne and Patricia (Alan). She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Allison and John Patrick Surbridge; Ann, Molly and Maegan Surbridge; Scott and Renee LaFleur; and Jacob Toves. Interment will be private. Arrangements under the direction of the Los Altos Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries.

MARY GREEN STEERS

Mary Green Steers passed away at her home Saturday, November 13 at age 89. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Herlwyn R. Green, a Stanford Medical School Professor and Research Scientist, and Louise Toby Green, who both moved to Palo Alto from the East in 1915.

Mrs. Steers was part of the lifelong Terman Study of Gifted Children. She attended Castilleja, Palo Alto High, Pomona College, and after graduation, the Art Student’s League of New York. She was actively interested in real estate development, architecture and design. She married John D. Steers, who attended Palo Alto High and Stanford and worked at Pan American World Airways as a Captain.

Mrs. Steers is survived by three of her four sons and four grandchildren, who will remember her for her dignity, kindness and courage. Son Terry lives in Lake Forest, IL, Tim in Napa, CA, and Tom in Watsonville, CA.

At her request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Hospice-Odyssey Health Care, 1500 E. Hamilton Avenue, Campbell, CA 95008.
