Valorie Carpenter leads eight candidates vying for three seats on the Los Altos City Council in campaign money raised and spent, according to pre-election statements compiled through Sept. 20.
Carpenter, in high-tech management, reported $13,494, including a $10,000 loan. She cited $7,372 in expenditures with $6,122 in remaining cash.
Former Mountain View Councilman Ron Packard, an attorney, placed second, reporting $10,425 in money raised and $5,818 in expenditures, leaving $4,607.
David Casas, a financial manager, came in third with $7,830 in cash raised, $448.79 in expenditures and an end cash total of $7,381.21.
Engineer Curtis Cole was fourth with $5,881.15 in money raised, $3,713.98 in expenditures and an end cash total of $2,167.17.
Incumbent Francis La Poll, an attorney, reported $5,562.75 in total cash, including a $1,138 loan. He reported expenditures at $3,995.83 and an end cash total of $1,566.92.
Candidates Jeannice Samani, Steven Smiley and Christopher Friendly Nicholson did not report specific figures since campaign funding total for each is less than $1,000.
Los Altos City Clerk Susan Kitchens said the deadline for the candidates’ second pre-election financial statements is Oct. 23.
