Waldie, Allbert

Eugene Allbert, 95, and Maggie Waldie, 80, were married, Sept. 16, at the Villa Siena retirement community.

Pastor Richard Reeves witnessed their vows.

Allbert was the subject of a Mercury-News “Doers Profile” some years ago.

This was not a May-December romance; it was a November-December wedding. Allbert’s daughter Ruth Rogers of Los Altos was pianist for the event.

Residents of Villa Siena and family gathered in the dining room for the ceremony.

The bride was on the arm of her son Ralph Scotti, the groom was attended by his daughter Margaret Clarke. Following the brief ceremony, cake was cut outdoors near the fountain.

Rogers said her father had been seeing Waldie for three years but didn’t tell her until recently.

This was the second wedding in 16 years at the Mountain View retirement community.
