HAMADA, Dr. James H.,

A well known dentist in Pal Alto since 1965, Jim was an avid golfer having held memberships at Sharon Heights, Corde Valle and Silver Creek Valley Country Clubs. For Jim, establishing strong and loving bonds with family, both immediate and extended, was a strong part of his life and legacy. He will be missed by all whom he has touched. His most important membership earlier this year was South Valley Christian Church. Jim leaves his loving wife of 40 years, Lillian; son Jason (Mary) Hamada; two wonderful grandchildren, Sabrina and Samantha Hamada; sister, June (Hank) Maruyama; and brother Yukio Hamada.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 3, at 7:00 PM at South Valley Christian Church, 590 Shawnee Lane in San Jose. (Near 85 and Blossom Hill Road). Friends & patients are welcome for remembrance and celebration of his life. The family requests that you dress casual such as Hawaiian or golf shirt attire.

McNEES, Mary Lee,

She was born in Shellsburg, Iowa and is the last of her family of eight brothers and sisters. In 1948, she married Sterling, an engineer from Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids. They spent their early married years in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where they started their family. In 1962, they moved to California. Mary Lee earned her degree (Economics) and teaching credentials from San Jose State University while caring for the home and raising her family.

She immediately set about to apply her education as a teacher at Sacred Heart School in San Francisco. Two years later, she started her own business, A La Carte Services, a temporary employment agency. The Los Altos based agency grew and operated very successfully from 1973 until its sale in 1989.

She is survived by her husband, Sterling Glenn McNees and children, Sally and George, and daughter-in-law, Lynne.

Memorial services were held at the Los Altos Presbyterian Church, Tuesday, July 1, 2003. The burial will take place July 8, 2003 at the Shellsburg Cemetery in Iowa, where the family grave site is.

LARSEN-PIERCE, Earlene,

Cynthia Larsen, in memory of her sister Earlene, is in the process of creating a non-profit organization that will provide physical comfort to those who are ill. Friends who wish to contribute toward the creation of this organization, to be called Earlene’s Angles - Comfort

No services are being held at this time, but a celebration of life party will be held later in the year.
