SHIPLEY, Angus M.,

During World War II he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps at which time he met his future wife, Bernice Pollock, an Army nurse. They were married in 1944 in Kansas, and after discharge from the Army, moved to Colorado and then to Connecticut in 1946.

In Connecticut, he taught food processing technology at the University of Connecticut in Storrs. He began working as a sales engineer for the Cherry-Burrell Corporation in 1948. This job took him to many parts of the country and world. The family moved to Reading, Massachusetts in 1956 and, in 1958, to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1966 the family made a final move to Los Altos. In 1974 he began work for the Paul Mueller Company. As part of this job he sold stainless steel tanks to many of the wineries in California and Washington State and he became an authority on California wines. He retired from the Paul Mueller Company in 1992 but continued on as a consultant until 1996.

He was a warm and loving father and always made time for his family. They are very grateful to have had him with them for so many years and will miss him very much. His daughters Susan Smalheer and Elizabeth Moses and his son Donald survive him. Also his sons-in-law Bruce Smalheer and John Moses and his grandchildren Sarah, Michael, and Amy Smalheer and Adam and Peter Moses.

A memorial service will occur in Falls Church on June 21. Flowers may be sent to 1107 Jackson Court, Falls Church, VA 22046.

SIMONS, Mary L.,

She was born in Algona, WA July 26, 1915. Mary was a Mtn. View resident with her husband Wilbur where they resided for the remainder of their lives. Mary was a sweet, loving and caring wife and mother, a great friend and sister, loved by everyone who knew her. She will be sorely missed. She is survived by her son William of Olalla, WA, his daugher Patricia of Mtn. View, two sisters Peggy Elliott of Shoreline, WA and Ellie Kesel of Venice, FL, 2 grandchildren

Samantha and Kristofer, several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Union Presbyterian Church, 858 University Ave., Los Altos of which they were both members, June 25, 2003 at 1:30 PM.

WILLIAMSON, Ruth Elizabeth,

Memorial services were held at Valley Presbyterian Church in Portola Valley on June 16, 2003.
