GEMPERLE, James P.,

He is survived by his wife, his sons Steven and Paul Demperle and Andrew and Patrick Flautt, and grandson Dominic Gemperle; his father Albert R. Gemperle and five siblings; Richard, Edward, Rosemary, David and Michael Gemperle and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was born in Pittsburgh, PA. He received a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA from Pepperdine. He moved to the Bay Area in 1976 to join the Raychem Corp. He was the General Manager of the Polymer Heating Unit, Tyco Flow control at the time of his death. Jim was an ethical, intelligent, witty man with an endearing sense of humor. He was a good listener, patient and understanding. He loved the redwood forests and the coasts of California. He loved to travel and to work with wood. He loved his job. He loved life, but most of all, he loved Dawn.

No memorial service is scheduled at this time. Memorials may be sent in Jim’s honor to the Melanoma Research Foundation, 23704-5 El Toro Rd., #206, Lake Forest, CA 92630 or to the Sacred Dying Foundation, P. O. Box 210328, San Francisco, CA 94121.

FERRUGGIA, Joan E.,

Memorial service at Quimet Bros. Concord Funeral Chapel, May 31, 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contribution to Lindsay Wildlife Museum or Community Concern for Cats, both of Walnut Creek, preferred.
