Miller, Imwalle

Brittany Jean Miller and Miles Henry Imwalle have announced their engagement to be married Aug. 23 at Zion Lutheran Church, The Dalles, Ore.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Richard and Karen Miller of The Dalles, Ore. She is a 1993 graduate of The Dalles High School.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in human biology from Stanford University and is currently completing a masters degree in business at Columbia University.

The groom-to-be is the son of Don and Kathy Imwalle of Los Altos.

He graduated Bellarmine College Preparatory, 1993 and is currently completing his graduate degree in law, JD at New York University Law School.

The couple plans to live in San Fransico.

Bewley, Jones

Samantha Michele Bewley and Bjorn Parry Jones were married August 17, 2002, at Treasure Island, San Francisco, California.

The ceremony took place in the court yard of Casa de la Vista, and a reception immediately followed.

The bride is the daughter of Susan and James Bewley of Los Altos.

She graduated from Los Altos High School and received a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a teaching credential from the University of California at Davis. She is employed as a teacher in the Elk Grove School District.

The groom is the son of Jude and David Parry-Jones of Santa Rosa.

He graduated from Santa Rosa High School and received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

He is employed as a flight instructor.

The couple lives in Sacramento.

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
